Radar signs provide a proven, effective and affordable traffic-calming solution for reducing speeding drivers on city streets and highways, in neighborhoods, school zones, and more. Speeding is the num-ber one complaint in many towns and cities. A radar sign is a voluntary tool that encourages behavior modification of drivers who speed. The radar sign shifts the brain out of the alpha state where the brain is aware but relaxed into the beta state where the brain is alert and focused. As a result, the driver responds to the flashing speed alert and slows down.

Permanent and Mobile Solutions

Radarsign has permanent as well as mobile solutions to serve your municipal traffic calming needs. Our A/C and solar powered radar speed signs are both excellent choices if the sign will be in a permanent location. If a temporary location or multiple locations within an area are needed, Radarsign offers three mobility solutions for municipalities and police departments:

  1. Relocating the radar speed sign between existing pole locations using our locking pole mount system. This option is ideal where multiple locations within an area are desired or in locations that are not safe for radar speed trailers.
  2. Mobile Patrol Stand: The Mobile Patrol stand, which supports either the battery powered or solar powered radar speed sign, is an excellent choice if the sign needs to be moved around and there is no existing pole to use with the sign.
  3. Radar on the GO trailer hitch mount offers the most portable option. Radar on the GO can easily be set up at strategically identified locations to reduce speeders and calm traffic.

StreetSmart Software (Optional)

StreetSmart traffic statistics software uses data gathered from the radar signs to report, organize and analyze speed and traffic statistics.

StreetSmart allows municipalities and law enforcement to:

  • Identify patterns of speeding during the day, providing law enforcement the best information about when to patrol
  • Provide a baseline of the actual speeding problem when traffic speed data is collected with the LED display off compared with data captured with the LED display on
  • Monitor the traffic calming effectiveness of the radar sign on an ongoing basis
